Of course, everyone knows Rev. Bubba D. Liverance & the Cornhole Prophets love to rock, but we are equally enthusiastic about college football, and especially about Auburn Tiger Football. This is our hometown. Auburn University has one of the most impressive pre-game programs in the country and a giant Hi-Def screen to highlight the activities on the field.
We are called the Auburn Tigers, but our battle cry is “War Eagle” (Long story, not enough time). Prior to the start of each home football game, a trained Eagle is released from the upper deck of the stadium. The Eagle circles the stadium several times then “dive bombs” to the logo in the center of the football field. Words can’t describe the “electricity” and sheer emotion in the air. With 90,000 fans watching, there’s hardly a dry eye.
Inspired by this tradition, I wrote a song, “Let The Eagle Fly”, in an effort to capture this Auburn spirit and pay homage to this great tradition. The record company executives, music industry advisors, our publicist, the promotion team, and quite a few other music business types advised us not to include the song on the album since it would only appeal to Auburn fans. I listened to their advice and understood their concerns. Then I told them to kiss my ass, the song was going on the album!
I’ve been in contact with Auburn University, and the Auburn Network, and have offered to donate 100% of the proceeds generated from the sale and download of “Let The Eagle Fly” to the Auburn Athletic Scholarship program, The Raptor Center, or any department Auburn University recommends. I’m asking Auburn University to play the song in the stadium just prior to the Eagle’s release. I’m more than confident, if Auburn plays the song at the 7 or 8 home games this year, hundreds of thousands of dollars, and maybe considerably more, will be generated to benefit the university.
If you’d like to hear “Let The Eagle Fly”, go to www.revbubbaband.com, click on the “Auburn Tigers Only” link on the left, and play the song. Additionally, if you like the song and feel it would be appropriate to play at the Auburn Football pre-game show, contact anyone you know at Auburn University and the Auburn Network (AU Network programs the music and video footage used) and e-mail all the Auburn Tiger Fans on your lists. Bubba D and the CHP will appreciate your help and we’re sure the beneficiaries of the funds will appreciate it as well. Thank you, Bubba D.
