Auburn is bowl eligible and to me has exceeded anyone’s expectations for the season. Auburn will have played the #1 team in the nation(LSU), the #2 team(Alabama), and the #3 team (Arkansas) this year as well as #12 (South Carolina), #13 (Georgia) and #17 (Clemson). I don’t care which end of the cotton field you’re standing, that’s been a mighty tough row to hoe! Consider this was all done with freshmen, redshirt freshmen, and sophomores. They’ve learned a lot and will get much better in the next few years.
Does Auburn have the talent that Alabama has this year? No. Does anyone in their right mind think Auburn has a remote chance against Alabama? No. But, with a home field advantage, nothing to lose, and the nation’s most intense rivalry on the line, I can guarantee Auburn will give Alabama all the fight they can handle. It may not be enough to win, but both teams will go home knowing they’ve been in one heck of a football game!
