Hey yall,
Just a quick note to let you know our new single “That’s What You Do” is being officially released to radio on August 1st. It will debut on ‘Fessa John Hook’s “Endless Summer Network” and at WSGE radio with Lamar Walker in the Charlotte NC area.
We’re excited and thank you all for being there for us! Also, just a reminder for those in the Greenville, SC area, the band and I will be performing at The Rendezvous on August 15 & 16 with the show being hosted by Spanky Jim Miller. We’re bringing our own opening act “The Good Doctor”. These guys are incredibly talented musicians and performers. If you like The Meters, Neville Brothers, Steely Dan, Little Feat, or Tower of Power, you’re going to love these guys. We’re looking forward to the Greenville shows and seeing our good friends Beach Bob and Kathy Cole from WOLT 103.3 fm and of course the man that’s always having a “Large” time, Pat Patterson along with his sidekick Robyn.
Like the farmer said to the tater, I’ll check you now and dig you later! Rev. Bubba D. Liverance & the Cornhole Prophets

Our band is releasing the 3rd single from our current album on August 1st, “That’s What You Do”. We’re excited about this release and chose this particular song because of the strong response we get when we perform it live.
Our first two singles, “If You Can’t Shag” and “Mo’ Better” far exceeded our expectations and we felt it was time to move forward with a new release. If you remember “Double Shot of My Baby’s Love” by the Swinging Medallions, “That’s What You Do” has a similar theme. In “Double Shot”, the girl’s lovin’ had the singer turning flips and shouting out loud. In “That’s What You Do”, the girl’s powerful lovin’ has the singer “speaking in tongues” and “testifying”.
Meanwhile, the band has plans to begin recording some new songs within the next month or so, expecting to release them in January 2010 (of course, that depends on how the songs turn out). Also, I want to mention to our Carolina friends that our band will be performing for the first time in South Carolina on August 15 & 16 at a small intimate club in Greenville called the Rendezvous. The owners, Tom & Beth, are great folks, the club is a ton of fun, and our good friend, Spanky Jim Miller, put all this together for us, so we’re bringing out the big guns and plan to throw down! Y’all be cool! Rev. Bubba D. Liverance

Another surprise for our merry band of music makers…………94.9 the Surf radio station in N. Myrtle Beach has placed our first single “If You Can’t Shag” into the Surf Hall of Fame. The song has been on their Top 40 chart for a year, peaking at #1, and either they got tired of hearing it, or felt it was deserving. Either way, the band and I are thrilled.
Speaking of thrills, our second single “Mo’ Better” bounced back to the #1 position on Cashbox Magazine’s Beach Music Singles Chart the week of June 13th. The song also topped the National Beach Music Top 40 chart on the Endless Summer Network. We must have done something right in a previous life!
And the hits keep rolling, check this out. A cook at a bar and grille named Chappy’s (in the Nashville area) came to one of the Cornhole Prophets’ BBQ parties after a show, and he liked our BBQ sauce so much (of course it’s a vinegar based sauce that has not been tainted with tomatoes), he wants to start serving it on their menu and credit it as “Rev. Bubba D. Liverance’s “Mo’ Better” BBQ Sauce! Now that’s an honor! Maybe if this music thing doesn’t work out, there could be a future on the Food Network? How does “Cooking with the Cornhole Prophets” sound? Y’all be cool. Bubba D. Liverance

Hey yall!
Just returned home from a 4 day run in Tennessee and Arkansas, and for the next few weeks, most of our playdates are in Alabama. One of the very best clubs in Alabama (or the entire country) is the War Eagle Supper Club in Auburn. We’ll be doing several “special appearance” shows beginning June 14, and again on June 28th and July 5th. These will be early shows beginning at 8pm (hey, I like early shows so I can get home and get my beauty rest).
The Supper Club has been in business since the 1930’s and is owned by two great guys, John Brandt and Snapper Cadenhead. I’ve seen everyone there from David Allan Coe, Little Feat, Kinney Chesney, Cheap Trick, and now Rev. Bubba D. Liverance & the Cornhole Prophets plan to make their mark!
Also, we’re playing our first South Carolina date at the Rendezvous in Greenville, SC August 15 and 16. Our buddy Spanky Jim Miller will be hosting and I can guarantee you the Cornhole Prophets will be “throwin’ down”! We’re going to try and “con” our good friends The Fabulous Shades into joining us onstage.
Had my first conversation yesterday with ‘Fessa John Hook” from the Endless Summer Network. What I thought would be a 5 minute chat, became an hour long. My knowledge of music history pales in comparison to the good ‘Fessa and I wish we could have continued for a few more hours. This guy literally “wrote the book” on Beach Music and Shag Dance and has a hilarious story about nearly every song and every artist in the genre.
Got an email from a girl in North Carolina saying she heard Pat Patterson playing the song “Let My Peoples Dance” on John FM out of Charleston (she was probably listening online or maybe travelling through Charleston). We’ve never released that particular song as a single, but we’re mighty happy it’s getting airplay. Thanks Pat!
Yall be cool, and we hope to see you soon! Bubba D. Liverance

It’s been a tough year on everybody in the country with job losses, housing crisis, banking crisis, and a whole herd of politicians that don’t know their ass from fat meat! So when I get some good news, I just have to share it.
“Mo Better” reached #1 on Cashbox Magazine’s charts this week. This was a very pleasant surprise for the band and I. Anyone that knows me, knows I don’t have a big ego and that I’m just a blue collar guy that plays music. But I have to tell you, it feels very good to know people appreciate your music and that what we do as a band is worthwhile. We can’t thank you all enough! Bubba D. Liverance

I just received a phone call from a telemarketer with a foreign accent saying if I could answer one question, I’d win an all expense paid trip to some island I’ve never heard of. By now, I normally would have said KMA and then hung up, but I thought I’d mess around with her and no matter what question she asked, I’d answer it wrong.
Here was the question:
Telemarketer: “Can you name a state in the South that begins with the letter A, ends with the letter A, and every other letter is A”?
Bubba: Alaska?
Telemarketer: “Nice try, but Alaska is not in the South, why don’t you try again”?
Bubba: Arkansas?
Telemarketer: “Closer, but that’s not it, you can try again”.
Bubba: Atlanta ?
Telemarketer: No, Atlanta is a city, and we’re looking for a state, try again”.
Bubba: Argentina
Telemarketer: “Not exactly, Argentina is a country and the answer is a state in the southern part of the United States. I can see you’re having a little difficulty, but we’re going to let you win anyway. We’d like to send your winner’s confirmation, where do you live”?
Bubba: Alabama

Thanks for dropping by! Things are moving along quite well with the band and the album. Our current single “Mo’ Better” has climbed to #4 on Cashbox Magazine’s Beach Music singles chart and our first single “If You Can’t Shag” is still hanging in there at #10 with 94.9 the Surf in N. Myrtle Beach. ‘Fessa John Hook’s Endless Summer Network also has us at #4 this week. Couldn’t ask for much more!
Quite a few radio DJ’s along the east coast have suggested we release “Fixin’ To” as our next single (probably in July or August). If you have a suggestion or thoughts about our next single, we’d welcome your input cornholeprophets@gmail.com .
Yall be cool, and in the words of Elvis “If you can’t find a partner, use a wooden chair”! Bubba D. Liverance

Hey yall,
Nothing really new to report, but it’s been a while, so I thought I’d write something, even if it’s not very interesting.
Of course, our band has worked up an entirely new show for this year and it seems to be going over very well with our audiences. Our biggest success with our current album has been with the Beach Music/Shag Dance arena primarily in Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. However, it amazes me how the audiences in Alabama, Louisiana, Texas, and Florida have latched onto our Beach styled songs. I’ll admit, they can’t shag, but they still dance and have fun with the music. I guess it goes back to the idea, if the music is good, the audiences will respond favorably!
The current single “Mo’ Better” is positioned at #7 this week in Cashbox Magazine www.cashboxmagazine.com on the Beach Music singles chart. ‘Fessa John Hook has been giving us some good spins on the Endless Summer Network which has been instrumental for the song’s momentum. And, surprisingly, “If You Can’t Shag” is still doing well at 94.9 the Surf in Myrtle Beach www.949thesurf.com .
Dariel Benden had some nice things to say in Alternatives News Magazine http://www.myrtlebeachalternatives.com/beach-newz and we’re glad she likes the record!
Unfortunately, our schedule does not permit us to attend Spring Safari SOS week at N. Myrtle Beach, we’ll be in Ohio and Indiana. But, we’ve blocked off time for Fall Migration in September and hopefully we’ll find a few places to play. I don’t care who you are, if you get a chance to spend time at Spring or Fall SOS, you owe it to yourself to go, it’s a blast!!!!!
We recently had an interview air on WSGE radio in the Charlotte NC area, which was set up by my good buddy Lamar Walker. We received an overwhelming number of emails and contacts from folks in the Charlotte area and thank you all! You can count on Charlotte being the first stop when the Rev. Bubba tour heads to the Carolinas. And let’s don’t leave out Greenville and Greenwood SC, where two of the best DJ’s in the country are spinning Bubba tunes, Pat Patterson and Spanky Jim Miller. We’re working on some live performance dates in the Greenville area right now and will keep you up to speed once the dates are firmed up.
That sure is a lot of writing for someone who didn’t have much to say. Like the farmer said to the tater “I’ll check you now, and dig you later”! Bubba D.

Hey yall! The band and I just returned from a 9 day run through Florida and had some great audiences and as always had a great time. One of my favorite spots was St. George Island which is near Apalachicola (oyster country and I had my share). It’s secluded and the locals have somewhat of a “Key West” spirit, lots of food, drink, and music everywhere. Next week, we’re on our way to Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky.
Meanwhile, our latest single, “Mo’ Better”, is doing well and charts this week at #14 at Cashbox Magazine and on the Endless Summer Network. Even though I’m not crazy about doing interviews, I did one for a good friend Lamar Walker, a DJ at WSGE radio in Charlotte, this morning. It was recorded and should air on Saturday March 28th. We’re the “spotlight artist of the month” at WSGE and are very appreciative to Lamar and the entire staff.
When we recorded the album, I had a pretty good idea that people in the South would appreciate the music. What is surprising to us is the number of radio stations in New York and all over New England that are giving the record spins. The song most of the Northern radio stations are playing is “Didn’t We Love”, and believe it or not, some DJ put some “beats” on “Seafood Platter” and it’s getting considerable spins in the dance clubs. Go figure?
We’ve recently been contacted by several major record companies talking about releasing “Didn’t We Love” to Adult Contemporary Radio stations nationally this summer. I’ll keep you up to speed on any developments along those lines, we’re just in the preliminary stages. Thanks for dropping by! Bubba D. Liverance www.revbubbaband.com

Even though I was raised in the Carolinas, I finished high school in Maryland. After graduation, I talked a buddy of mine, “Karpo”, into to going with me to N. Myrtle Beach for a little R&R and skirt chasing! On the way down, we bought a bootleg cassette tape of the Tams from a gas station and that was his first taste of Beach Music.
Over the years, we’ve stayed in touch by phone, and he called this week saying he was in Florida on his way back to Maryland and planned to spend a couple of days along the coast of South Carolina. He asked if I had recommendations of where he should stay. Of course, I said his only choice would by OD (N. Myrtle Beach). I re-educated him about the Shag and reminded him of the music we heard years ago when we were there. He asked if I knew a good club where he could go and I told him he couldn’t go wrong at Fat Harold’s.
He called this morning, after spending several days at OD. He told me he bought 13 CD’s at Judy’s House of Blues and had gone to Fat Harold’s on Wednesday night and said you would have thought it was Saturday because of the large crowd. He also said he heard the best music he’s listened to in the past 20 years. While he was just standing and watching the shaggers, a girl asked him to shag and he said he didn’t know how. She dragged his Yankee ass out on the floor and he said he was shagging up a storm!
Oh yeah, he wanted to turn me onto this great radio station he listened to while he was there…..94.9 The Surf (of course, I just laughed because I’ve been listening to The Surf for years). He said he plans to come back in the fall and I gave him the website for SOS Fall Migration.
I’d say we’ve converted another Yankee. Rev. Bubba D. Liverance
